So, on the 31st of March I submitted my application for the PhD program at the University of the Sunshine Coast AND the application for the RTP Scholarship (it’s the generous support given to HDR students to allow them to study without having to work full time) and waited….
It was an anxious wait and seemed to take forever, but it was only the beginning of June when I received the great news that I had been successful in my application and I began the journey on the 14th of June – happy day! I didn’t have much hope of receiving the stipend scholarship but I really needed it and sure enough, when August rolled around, so did letter of congratulations! And this is when it became awfully real that I was going to spend the next three years immersed in my studies to produce a creative artifact and exegesis in the hope of becoming Dr Melinda Jane Wells…
